Put on the helmet – Take a seat – Enjoy the Ride
Hello Everybody,

If you like motorcycling…
If you like travelling…
If you like India…
If you like me

… please take a moment to look at my site.

From 30 July to 20 August I have planned my biggest experience so far:

I’m going to do the North India Himalaya motorcycle trail, organized by Motortrails.

The main route will start in Delhi. From their we will travel to Manali and start the famous Manali-Leh route, known to be the highest motorable road of the world.

I have created this site to keep the people back at home informed of my experiences and to share my stories and pictures with them. Of course everyone else is more than welcome to read, view, enjoy and react on the site.

Of course you can also send me an email: mailto:gejewe24@hotmail.com

If I can find some time, I will try to put some information online before I leave.

Up until then this site is heavily under construction

Still Alive!

Hi there,

Long time! Too much to see, too little time. I really don’t have time to put the day-by-day log online yet, but I will certainly do so when I get home.

To show you all i’m really in India (and not the Costa Brava), here some proof:

India is really an incredible country. So many different kinds of people, landscapes. The impressions are almost too intense to deal with. I think I will let my photo’s do the talking when I’m back. Although we are located in very good hotels (for circumstances, ok), poverty is all around is.
However, all they say is true: the contrast is huge. People living in wealth, people living actually in the gutter.

In the nice town Keylong I wandered the streets, when a young girl and her two brother invited me in their house to join them for a cup of tea. They even invited me for a lunch. Looking at the bowl of plain rice they had to share with at least 8 people, I kindly told them no. Wonder this when you are sitting save at home, having everything you need and want (and more). These people have almost nothing, and they open the door for a strangelooking Dutch guy to share…. Makes you wonder about things, doesn’t it?

I promised to send them the pictures I took by post.
This is the picture of the nice family:

India’s National Flag

Translation to English will follow soon

Royal Enfield

The bikes we are travelling on are Royal Enfield Bullet 500 ‘s. I have never actually seen one, let alone did a tour on it.

One week to go!

One week, and then I can finally go and enjoy a well earned holiday (and yes, I’m entitled to say that )

To get in the mood, take a look at this movie:
